Tuition for a 9 month to 1 year HVAC trade school program averages between $15,000 and $20,000, but remember that is before any financial aid is applied.

This cost only covers the tuition itself. It doesn't include other expenses like room and board if you were to attend school area where you don't currently live. We have based that estimate on a sample of over 30 HVAC trade schools

Cost of NATE Certification Exams

The cost of NATE certification exams varies by testing location. But on average, each test will cost between $130-$250. You can expect to spend about $500 when taking both the core and specialty exams. The estimate does not include the registration fee, which may also vary at each testing location.

Study materials for the NATE exam can be found in a variety of places, including the NATE online store. There are also some great free online resources to supplement these materials as well.

Cost of EPA 608 Certification

When taking the EPA 608 exam, costs will vary depending on where you take the exam. On average, each portion (Core, Type 1, Type 2, Type 3) costs a minimum of $20. The Universal Certification will cost $150 or more.
